Legendary Jazz Pianist
Ellis Marsalis Jr. has passed away.
According to his son, Branford, the cause of death was complications from
CoronaVirus COVID-19. The New Orleans native’s contribution to Jazz can be felt all over his city and the world. Along with his sons Wynton, Branford, Delfayo and Jason Marsalis, he taught and mentored many, including Terence Blanchard, Donald Harrison, Harry Connick, Jr.
Marsalis brought the education of Jazz to the classroom, at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, then University in Richmond and the University of New Orleans. All while recording around 20 albums as the lead, starting with the 1985 album

The Ellis Marsalis Quintet Plays the Music of Ellis Marsalis, released in 2018.
Ellis Marsalis Jr. was 85 years old.

African saxophonist Manu Dibango dies of CoronaVirus COVID-19 on Tuesday. His biggest hit, Soul Makossa’s “breakbeat” has been used in Hip-Hop over the years, including on the Jay-Z song “Face Off” featuring Sauce Money on his 1998 Album “In My Lifetime, Vol. 1.” Dibango’s Family took to Facebook with the announcement:

As the days go by, more and more public figures are testing positive caught with the deadly coronavirus virus.
Tom Hanks and
Rita Wilson were the first celebrities to come out with the Coronavirus. Since then many celebrities and sports figures have tested positive for COVID-19.

on a desert meditation retreat like that actor, then you’re aware the Coronavirus is a global pandemic. No one is safe, with a number of
celebrities having been diagnosed with COVID-19 or at least quarantining after exposure.
While the thousands of deaths are very real, for many it hasn’t really touched them in a way that illustrates how serious things are. But when famous people start coming down with the potentially fatal diagnosis, more people start to snap to attention.
Same goes for organizations. For example, the
NBA basically closed up shop when one of its star players was diagnosed.

Update 3/17/2020: NBA Star Kevin Durant Announces he has tested positive with CoronaVirus COVID-19.
Update: Actor Idris Elba announced on Social media that he has tested positive with CoronaVirus COVID-19.
Elba said: “
This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic.”

Well, this Coronavirus is spreading by the second. As the days go by, more and more public figures are getting caught with the deadly virus.
Tom Hanks and
Rita Wilson were the first celebrities to come out with the Coronavirus.
Chet Hanks, son of Tom & Rita came out to social media shortly after the announcement of his parents to give their fans an update on his families health. Chet assures us that his parents are in high spirits and are doing just fine. Following the Hanks news was the NBA suspending the season indefinitely due to two players on the Utah Jazz getting the Coronavirus.
