Can you believe Trump is looking out for African refugees?
But nah, it’s not what you think. He’s fast-tracking white South Africans, specifically Afrikaners, into the U.S. He’s claiming they’re facing persecution in their home country. Trump and Elon Musk say these folks are under attack in South Africa. Pointing to violent farm robberies and alleged “reverse racism.”
But the South African government said the U.S. allegations that the white minority Afrikaners in question are being persecuted are “completely false,” the result of misinformation and an inaccurate view of its country.
Regardless, Trump is fast tracking these refugees. Meanwhile, denying others from countries like Iraq and Nigeria. So yeah, it’s raising eyebrows and big questions.
We don’t know how many Afrikaners have applied or been approved, but a U.S.-based group says tens of thousands want in. And over two dozen Afrikaners from about four families are set to land Monday at Dulles Airport near D.C., according to U.S. officials and documents.
