Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing serious charges in a federal case involving sex trafficking, but he isn’t the only famous name connected to the proceedings. As jury selection began on May 5 in New York, potential jurors were shown a list with over 100 names—celebrities, locations, and individuals connected to the case—including Michael B. Jordan, Kanye West, and Mike Myers.

According to NBC News, the list wasn’t explained in court, but prospective jurors were asked if they recognized any names and whether it would affect their ability to stay impartial. While these celebrities are not involved in any of the charges against Combs, their names may come up during testimony or as part of broader context surrounding the case.

Also included were the names of women who have taken legal action against Combs, including his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. She filed a sexual abuse lawsuit against the music mogul in November 2023, which was settled just one day later. Another name on the list was Dawn Richard, a former member of Danity Kane, who accused Combs of sexual assault in a separate lawsuit. Though Combs has denied both claims, video footage surfaced in 2024 that appeared to support Cassie’s account, prompting Combs to issue a public apology.

The trial is expected to officially begin on May 12, following the selection of 12 jurors and six alternates. During this time, each juror will be questioned about their knowledge of the case and Combs’ public history to ensure a fair and unbiased trial.

Before jury selection began, Combs’ legal team tried to delay the trial by two months, arguing they needed more time to review new evidence. Judge Arun Subramanian denied the request, saying it wasn’t clear why more time was needed.

Combs is facing five federal charges, including racketeering, sex trafficking, and prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

In March, federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) raided Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami as part of the ongoing investigation. A spokesperson for HSI confirmed that the searches were coordinated by their New York office, with support from HSI teams in Los Angeles and Miami.

Diddy’s attorney, Aaron Dyer, called the searches a “gross overuse of military-level force” and criticized how authorities handled the situation. He claimed Combs’ children and staff were treated poorly during the raids and said the music mogul was never detained but did cooperate fully.

Despite growing public attention, Combs insists the accusations against him are false. “Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday,” he wrote in a December Instagram post. “I will fight for my name, my family, and for the truth.”

As the trial moves forward, celebrity mentions may continue to draw headlines, but for now, none of the well-known figures named are accused of any wrongdoing.
