Tasha Smith Met Gala Afterparty Look: Debuts Blonde Do
Tasha Smith Rocks Bad A** Blonde Do To Teyana Taylor’s Met Gala Afterparty

Tasha Smith‘s Met Gala afterparty look was a vibe. The gorgeous actress looked dapper while debuting a bad a** blonde at Teyana Taylor’s Met Gala afterparty. She showed off her statuesque legs in a sexy look from Black designer Romeo Hunte styled by Mickey Boom and short cut by Yancey Edwards and Greg Cooper Spencer. Her stems were sheathed in a pair of sheer black tights.
The actress, director, and producer was perfectly on trend for an evening dedicated to celebrating the impact of Black dandyism on fashion and art. The ensemble featured tailored hot pants that hugged her snatched waist. It also featured a crisp white button-up top with a long silk black pussybow around the neck. This bow was anchored by a onyx vintage style brooch in the center.
The star of the outfit was a luxurious hip-length fur coat with luscious dark lapels that Hunte had previously worn down the runway.
Boom completed his vision for Smith with jewelry from Alexis Bittar and a pair of vegan patent Mary Jane pumps from Femme Los Angeles. The strap on the shoe reflected the theme well.
It was the perfect balance of power and femininity.
Tasha Smith Met Gala After Party Look
Smith wore a striking blonde caesar cut styled by Yancey Edwards and Greg Cooper Spencer for the occasion. During a night of cascading curls, and sculpted chignons this choice was one of the few short styles we loved! It was a deviation from the star’s typical flowing bust-downs.
Merrill Hollis created Smith’s makeup look which featured a dainty lip combo and a mesmerizing dark eye liner.
Hunte is a favorite of celebrities who want to take their looks up a notch. He has dressed Met Gala staples Zendaya and Beyoncé for various occasions. Mickey Boom, who also dressed theater producer Cody Renard Richard for this year’s Met Gala, works with many screen sirens. He has styled Brandee Evans, Shannon Thornton and Naturi Naughton.
Calling It Back
Smith was not the only one who opted to show off their stems at what some call the East Coast Oscars. The bold style choice would have been right at home in the heyday of the Harlem Renaissance, where hemlines lifted as culture exploded.
Taraji P. Henson went pantless in a darling all-white look from Monse. Doja Cat also rocked a satirical take on a power suit from Marc Jacobs that included a leopard bodice, exaggerated shoulder pants, and black tights instead of the standard slacks. White Lotus star and K-Pop icon Lisa wore a pair of monogrammed sheer tights.
Sabrina Carpenter opted to go pantless as well. She cited her height as a reason. She explained that Pharrell Williams chose to put her in a bodysuit during an interview with Vogue.
Hot pants were a huge trend in 2024 and if tonight’s blue dandy inspired carpet is any indication it looks like the statement makers are not going anywhere soon.
