Beyoncé’s Mama – Miss Tina, Opens Up About Recent Health Scare

Tina Knowles, Beyoncé and Solange’s mama, just opened up about a health scare that had her leaning on faith, family, and early detection.
So Miss Tina was diagnosed with breast cancer in her left breast. She missed a mammogram during the pandemic, and when she finally got screened last year, doctors found two tumors. One was benign, the other cancerous — stage 1. And thankfully it was caught early before it could spread.
She had a lumpectomy and came through the surgery strong. But what really touched her she said was her tribe — Beyoncé, Solange, Kelly Rowland, and her niece Angie showing up at the hospital. They filled that space with love, laughter, and even sang “Walk With Me” to lift her spirits before surgery, she said.
She also has a new book out called Matriarch. In it she shares that Beyoncé handled the news like a boss. She was calm, focused, and ready to act. Solange was full of care and comfort, saying, “Mom, we’re going to take care of this.”
Now Mama Knowles says she’s cancer-free, feeling healthier, eating better, and filled with gratitude. And she’s sharing her story to encourage other women to not skip those checkups. Saying early detection saved her life, and it can save others too.
