“Oh So NOW You’re Learning Mandarin” Duolingo Gets In On The Fun As RedNote Becomes The Most Downloaded App

Duolingo is one of the top apps to learn a new language and now with many people searching for new apps to use with the TikTok ban approaching, RedNote has quickly become the most downloaded app. This social app was created in China with mainly users from Asia before the TikTok ban was announced. Now many users are hoping to learn Mandarin to understand what’s happening on RedNote and Duolingo decided to get in on the fun.

As many users have taken a dip into learning the characters in writing this language, others have relied on songs and movie scenes to help them through the basics.

Of the millions of languages spoken around the world, Duolingo offers courses in 40 languages for English speakers including Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic, and Swahili. Lessons on this app will teach you how to pronounce words, write and form sentences through games, repetition and stories. I have used Duolingo for almost 2 years and I can honestly say, the app is helpful but shouldn’t be your only source in learning a new language. Finding a group of people to have realistic conversations using the language you’re learning and then visiting a place or country where this language is spoken is going to elevate your skills tremendously!

Also shoutout to all the Black people who have already learned and speak Mandarin, my cousin started learning this language in High School and speaks in fluently in her 30s. As she did to learn this language, you should also remember to always have fun and stay consistent.
