Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia Recall: Is Your Bottle Water Contaminated?
THE BUZZ!
More than 150,000 Bottles of Water Recalled Due to Bacterial Contamination
Something else for you to be aware of. A water recall of over 150,000 bottles of water. If you live in Maryland, Virginia, or West Virginia you might want to double-check your bottled water. According to a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) enforcement report, a company called Berkeley Club Beverages has recalled a bunch of their water bottles because they might be contaminated with coliform bacteria.
Now, don’t freak out just yet. Coliform bacteria itself usually isn’t a big deal, but it can be a sign of other nastier stuff. So, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
According to ScienceDirect The presence of this organism may be an indicator of fecal contamination and be related to use of polluted irrigation water, the presence of feces, or poor sanitation and hygiene.”
Drinking water has many benefits. But it defats the purpose if that water is contaminated.
And I don’t play around with any of these recalls. If its bad enough for them to mention it, its bad enough to pay attention to it.
Got to be careful out here.
