Boko Haram Targets Tukur Buratai In Fatal Attack

One soldier and five militants are now dead after the Boko Haram ambushed the new chief of the Nigerian army, General Tukur Buratai. The failed terrorist attack took place in the northeastern part of the country in Borno, a region where the Boko Haram has long been fighting for an Islamic state. Buratai was in Maidguri, the capital of Borno, to inspect troops’ resources and capabilities in defeating the Boko Haram. Read more at the BBC.

Advanced Cancer Diagnoses Are Most Fatal For Black Women
Yet again, research shows that Black women have an exceptionally high risk of dying from a medical ailment over women of other races. Findings show that young Black women and women under the age of 35 are twice as likely to die of cancer, especially in the advanced stage. However, these death rates are still below those affiliated with the most common form of breast cancer. Politicians like Hillary Clinton and Marco Rubio have been criticizing the Black Lives Matter movement for not offering tangible, enforceable solutions to end police brutality and neglect. Well, this Friday BLM activists shut them up big time by releasing Campaign Zero, an in-depth proposal with specific policy demands and suggestions at the federal and state level to save lives and to put an end to police misconduct. Bernie Sanders Changes His Approach To Black Voters, Speaks On Racial Inequality

Bernie Sanders is getting more vocal about racial discrimination and police brutality on the campaign trail after butting heads with Black Lives Matter activists. Sanders appeared at speaking engagements this past weekend in South Carolina to speak on income inequality and problems within the criminal justice system to local pastors in the Baptist Church and Black residents in Greenville and Orangeburg. Sanders is quoted as saying: “We are going to end institutional racism and we are going to transform and make changes in the criminal justice system that isn’t working.”

The people of Lebanon are now rising up against the government for incompetence in the capital city of Beirut where the streets have long been filled with trash. Protest organizers have been working under a group name called “You Stink”, an insult directed at the government, but the issues the country has been having over trash collection is just the tip of the iceberg. Citizens have been fed up with the parliament’s inability to decide on a new president after well over a year, government corruption and the country’s failing water and electricity systems.
